Musical Ambitions? Have Two Grand. | October 31, 2010 at 04:27 PM

I'm fiddling with learning the bass now, and I want to be able to play before I upgrade from my bog-standard Crafter. So I've put the decision off for a while. It's a bloody great idea though.

Those long-haired hippies over at the Arts Council have gone crrrrrrrrrrazy:

Take it away is an Arts Council initiative designed to help more people get involved in learning and playing music. The scheme allows individuals to apply for a loan of up to £2,000 for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument, and pay it back in nine monthly instalments, completely interest free.

So if you want a new instrument, or know someone that does, do the right thing.

A fantastic hardcore RPG that will never make it as far as Europe. Go on, publishers, I dare you to prove me wrong.

Import it now, die a lot, get reincarnated, and find your body to regain all the souls you earned before you died.

Thought Sulu was Chinese...?

"All you Asians look the same to me." shrugs JJ.

Day/night cycle? It'd be easy to cheat that though.

Would have thought there'd be some strategy games on there for sure. What was that one for the N-Gage? Path to Glory? That was surprisingly good.

Movement sensors seem to be the 'in' thing at the moment, Wii Remote, Six Axis, etc. Thought there'd be games taking advantage of the GPS and other features by now.

Can't help it, it's like whenever I hear Danny Dyer speak (in films, I don't knock around with him or anything, which is probably for the best), I just laugh like a drain.

JJ Abrams needs to stop casting beautiful twentysomethings (and Pegg) in films, though. Mind, it only detracted from Cloverfield a little, so will overlook it in such an august series as this.

If I can somehow not see Cho as Harold, that will be good too.

*stands Iphone strike force down to DefCon3*

That's alright then.

Played any games on it yet? I've heard it touted as a rival to the PSP and DS. While I don't think Sony or Ninty are shitting themselves in fear just yet, I've seen increasing coverage of Iphone titles online.

Oh Jesus, not predictive text? An abomination ahead of Mick Hucknall but behind circumcision.

"If you require a dialling wand, please mash the keypad..."

I don't really need one of these, but I'd probably buy one if it wouldn't guarantee that my PC died of shame.

I'll end up buying one in a moment of weakness and then spend half my time at work browsing the net. Oh dear.

Star Trek Reborn | May 17, 2009 at 06:52 PM

Good one.

I can't stop laughing at Pegg in that first pic, and I have no idea why. There appears to be something intrinsically funny about his appearance.

Today, I was pulled over by a police officer for speeding. After writing the ticket, he asked me why I was wearing a surgical mask. I told him that swine flu was found in our area and I was scared. He thought that I was insulting him and wrote me another ticket. FML

Today, I was sitting in the living room with my parents when my dad asked my mom if she knew where he could find some double a batteries. She said to check my vibrator. He said he already did. FML

Today, I was walking through the mall with my boyfriend of a year and a half. There was sign outside of the jewelry store that said, "Engagement Rings-No interest for 12 months." I said, "Look, baby! No interest." He replied, "That's right...NO INTEREST." FML

Today, I met a guy at a bar and we went back to my room. We start having sex and about 30 seconds in he stops and says it's not right - he likes me too much for a one night stand. He gives me his number, a kiss on the cheek and leaves. Turns out he already came. I call his phone - wrong number. FML

Today, I was in spanish class, having a debate about the death penalty. When I went to make a point, I meant to say "La pena de muerte", which means "The death penalty". I said, "La pene de muerte". Turns out that means, "The penis of death". FML

And so on in that fashion.

Slightly clumsy in places, but otherwise hilarious.

Broken Sword - The Director's Cut | March 28, 2009 at 12:15 PM

This is actually quite good.

The original version kicks off in Paris, with you controlling George Stobbart as a cafe is bombed. This upsets G a bit, and he starts investigating.

In the director's cut, you start off as Nicole (Papa?), off to a meeting with an important personage, but unfortunately he gets whacked, which sucks her into investigating. It makes it feel like a new game, TBH, starting off with new content, which was probably the point.

Dunno yet, going to get the Wii version I think. This version has an additional subplot, so hopefully it's good (done by Revolution, who created the game, so no real worries there).

Yep, bought it, lost or lent the disc out, the PS version died due to severe scratching, lent the budget re-release out and lost the GBA cart, still got the budget compilation somewhere I think.
