Transporter 2

It's a good 'un, alright. Ridiculously over the top action, Statham's terrible 'American' accent, and some terrible 'comedy' moments.

It also has a female assassin wielding dual machine pistols dressed only in lingerie. Terrible sign of moral decay and all that, I know.

I'm beginning to notice that more and more often, action films are doing away with selective reality and becoming more and more fantastical. I view this as a good thing, as long as it's done right.

That's the reason I don't really watch action films anymore, in fact, haven't seen one in years now (IIRC), I got really pissed with the last James Bond movie, also with Mission Impossible 2 and prob others. If I want fantasy, I'll go watch a fantasy movie.
Women in lingerie can still make me watch a movie, though

Killing for peace is like screwing for virginity.

Amen!

I appreciate a more fantastical take on things. Lots of early action films are high on conveniently selected realism, but there are very few truly realistic films. Heat, Collateral, Way of the Gun for instance, are all pretty true to life.

The vast majority of films, simply aren't. I don't have a problem with film-makers going the other way, and doing the craziest shit they can do, because why pay lip service to something in one scene only to piss all over it the next?

I was pleasantly surprised by the first Transporter movie. It was just right and just different enough (I mean, missiles that know exactly which window to go through, shockwaves off the most everday explosions...) to make it really good.

Transporter 2 didn't disappoint either. There were a few ropey CGI moments (just watch that helicopter blow up in good old Commodore64 fashion!) which the insaneness of teh rest of the film made up for.

Problem with both of them though is that they just... well... end. Suddenly. You expect a long ending tying up some of the looser plot holes and it's all over.

Oh well! I still love 'em!

Aren't the Asgard supposedly technologically superior?

That was fucking hilarious. I thought my DVD was skipping, it was so shite. Must have been the budget's day off.

I wouldn't have minded, but the rest of the effects were near perfect. It's like the editor blinked or something.

The creators of South Park could have improvised a better explosion with a few bits of cut out coloured paper!

A creation of true 8-bit beauty. Who said the NES was dead?
