Recently, I bought a DVD (Brotherhood/Taegukgi) and although it's a foreign film, it's a Region 2 disc and everything, and even if it wasn't my DVD player should read it fine because it's multiregion.
The subtitles repeat. Instead of showing the next line of dialogue, they show the previous one. Again.
Example:
Son waves goodbye to his mtoher, off to fight in the Korean War: "Goodbye mum!"
Next scene, sergeant screaming at new recruits: "Goodbye mum!"
Now normally I wouldn't mind the unintentional hilarity, but this is a really good war flick, and despite the fact I've watched it half a dozen times, I still haven't seen all the fucking dialogue. I can tell what's going on, yep, not hard as long as you keep your eyes open, but it's bloody irritating.
Any ideas? It's quite erratic, and doesn't seem to have anything to do with how much dialogue is going on. Anyone know if it's the DVD or the DVD player? Or is it aliens?
Fucking technology.
