The Chow Main Event. | March 18, 2006 at 07:42 PM

Finally saw this a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was going to be fairly predictable and did my usual bit of guesswork in the first five minutes.

I'll happily admit that every scene was nicely done and not at all what I was expecting. Stephen Chow certainly has a good imagination!

You might be interested to know that IMDB.com is listing a Kung Fu Histle 2 as currently in production.

Sci-fi For The Masses | March 18, 2006 at 07:38 PM

Well season 1 is under £30 on Amazon, so even if it doesn't tickle your fancy you can probably sell it on eBay or somewhere like that for the same price you bought it

There's also full frontal nudity in the pilot, but only the pilot. It's not intergalactic porn or anything like that!

A, contradictory survey results Apart from the differing 'evidence' we're all agreed though right?

Where Are You In The Scheme Of Things? | March 17, 2006 at 11:26 AM

Wow! I'm in the 23.45% richest in the UK and the 8.6% richest in the world.

The second figure is quite believeable for reasons that FullAuto mentiones earlier, but the first figure? Did they count people on the dole as earners or something? Fucking bin men get paid more than me (although I will admit that they get paid rather well nowadays!)

I'm with Lady_Castlemaine in terms of water, though in my case it's more alcopops as all beer tastes foul - that I've tried anyway!

Aye, so we're agreed that literacy doesn't mean much any more then

Pet Hates | March 17, 2006 at 09:34 AM

You sure that literacy rate of 99% is accurate FA? I think they must be basing that on whether people can spell their first names or not, because 99% seems rather high.

Beware the cheery tunes on the jukebox, they will suck you in!

Also, a word of warning! Your eyes may start to go REALLY bloodshot after much mroe than 30 minutes of play. This game just wasn't designed for monitors over 15 inches.

I freaked my family out a few months back as there was very little whiteness in my eyes after four hours of play, although I plan to do this again around Halloween and freak out small children in my neighbourhood.

Sony Drop Bollock. | March 16, 2006 at 06:52 PM

With Microsoft set to release Halo 3 around the time of the PS3 release (and I bet good money they'll wait if the PS3 drags out any longer than already planned) I think they'll be a little up shit creek.

Star Wars On The Small Screen | March 16, 2006 at 06:51 PM

Genius

Gaming Youth Tycoon | March 16, 2006 at 06:49 PM

It's certainly getting a new lease of life multiplayer wise. I also like the way that to achieve all the new multiplayer options with OpenTTD and the other recent modifications, they didn't just try to re-code the game to make it work better - they actually rebuilt it from scratch and imported the graphics sets

Star Wars On The Small Screen | March 16, 2006 at 11:11 AM

Mmm-Mmmmmmm!

Star Wars On The Small Screen | March 16, 2006 at 10:07 AM

Thing is he could have just done some of the stories from the books set after episode 6. I mean, nt to me nasty or anything, but Mar Hamill and Carrie Fisher won't cost a lot nowadays, and Harrison Ford is certainly affordable to Mr Lucas and his ever increasing bank balance...

Star Wars On The Small Screen | March 16, 2006 at 09:14 AM

Well if you remember he was originally never going to write Episodes 1-3, then he caved in and wrote the first one and said that would be the only one he wrote and then... you get the picture.

Fair do's, it's his thing, but I just can't help but wonder if it'll go the way fo the Holiday Special (full article to come about that grand site! )

Star Wars On The Small Screen | March 16, 2006 at 08:49 AM

Not meaning to sound a little skeptical about such a thing, but having recently heard the news that there is definitely to be a Star Wars TV series (c'mon, we all secretly knew it was coming) I can't say I'm overly excited by th fact that Mr Lucas will be penning the stories.

Don't get me wrong, it's his gig and all that, but there are much more interesting stories that can be done after Episode 6 after all and still make use of some of the original actors.

I feel that setting it between episodes 3 and 4 is pointless because... well... we all know what happens next. Besides, George crammed in all the loose ends into the last three minutes of Episode 3 if you all remember - some very bad cutting and quick shooting going on...

Ufo Extraterrestrials | March 15, 2006 at 04:26 PM

But since the people of Esperanza aren't form Earth then they are also extraterrestrials...

...I'm getting a headache again!
