No. Ants know why they're scything through any particular jungle and it's not for oil or profit.

Hang on, did I say profit or profit there?

Animal Love | May 19, 2006 at 07:21 AM

The Archer Fish.

It doesn't wait for it's food, it picks it off low-level leaves from bushes and trees from several feet away using a deadly-accurate jet of water.

Globe Trotting | May 19, 2006 at 07:19 AM

Alas no, it's not technically globe trotting - for you anyway

George Lucas - Possibly Not An Arsehole? | May 13, 2006 at 08:03 AM

Personally Chewie should have smacked both of them upside the head and been the main character in all the films. He certainly gets all the best lines.

Liam Neeson's lines in Episode I for example are truly cringe-worthy.

The off-set banter must have gone something like:

Neeson: "So George, 30 years to plan it out and the Virgin Birth is the best plot you can come up with?"

Lucas: "Yup."

Neeson: "Can't we at least make Darth Sidious the father or something? Y'know, make it a bit like a self-fulfilling prophecy or some shit like that?"

Lucas: "Nope."

Neeson: "Prick."

Riga (in Latvia don'tchaknow) was ace. Lots of history though as I was there on a stag weekend I fear some of us may have been ill on some of their history...

Definitely recommend having a look when sober though. It's one of these places that's been invaded by everyone at some point or other a bit like England, but in Riga's case it's all within the past 200 years or so, so you end up with Eastern European styles next to very Stalin-era imposing concrete buldings next to Swiss chalets and all sorts of fun stuff like that - most eccentric, if eccentric is the right word. Certainly feels it.

George Lucas - Possibly Not An Arsehole? | May 4, 2006 at 05:57 PM

Woah! Way to sell something... again!

You know why it;s only going to be out for a short while? That'll be because eventually they'll give in and release the whole siz episodes on DVD and make fanspay for it again!!

May Day !may Day! | May 2, 2006 at 09:22 AM

I spent my day going to see the missus' folks about 140 miles away - drove there in the morning and back in the afternoon...

...on the plus side though I did get drunk when I got back

Transporter 2 | April 27, 2006 at 09:42 PM

I wouldn't have minded, but the rest of the effects were near perfect. It's like the editor blinked or something.

The creators of South Park could have improvised a better explosion with a few bits of cut out coloured paper!

Transporter 2 | April 27, 2006 at 07:10 AM

I was pleasantly surprised by the first Transporter movie. It was just right and just different enough (I mean, missiles that know exactly which window to go through, shockwaves off the most everday explosions...) to make it really good.

Transporter 2 didn't disappoint either. There were a few ropey CGI moments (just watch that helicopter blow up in good old Commodore64 fashion!) which the insaneness of teh rest of the film made up for.

Problem with both of them though is that they just... well... end. Suddenly. You expect a long ending tying up some of the looser plot holes and it's all over.

Oh well! I still love 'em!

Flightplan | April 26, 2006 at 06:46 AM

Still, it was better than I thought it was going to be, but that was mostly because critics were saying it was complete and utter shite.

It's still watchable, just not entirely surprising.

Ds Goes Bang. | April 25, 2006 at 05:48 PM

Whoah! So you've got no thumbprints left then?!

Ds Goes Bang. | April 25, 2006 at 03:37 PM

Hmm... perhaps this could be salvaged and turned into a test to see how many hours of constant gaming are required to burn out the screen.

So how many hours a day on average were you using it?

11/9 Revisited - Flight 93. | April 25, 2006 at 07:04 AM

Now that's funny. Go America go!

National Security | April 24, 2006 at 08:38 PM

I've seen it. I used to think Mr Lawrence was great (as in "better than average", not "has achieved greatness with his acting prowess") back when I'd only ever seen him in Nothing to Loose (brilliant little film!), but then it turned out he's the same in every other film ever and the amusement wore off somewhat.

T'was a fairly average film but it passed the time amusingly enough.

Warcraft Wankers Wax Wroth. | April 24, 2006 at 05:40 PM

Those little cricket fuckers had it coming...
