Darkly Scanning | July 16, 2006 at 02:12 PM

Well Robert Downey usually brings every film he's in up a notch just by being there.

My problem is Keanu here - he's not done a cracking performance since Bill & Ted. Dammit Keanu, show us some emotion!

Dvd Rws? | July 8, 2006 at 07:18 PM

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

Err... you don't happen to have the receipt do you?

World Cup | July 4, 2006 at 11:39 AM

It's like the flag's going to go out of fashion isn't it?

I think the trouble is that most folks don't know that it's still valid for the other 3 years and 11 months - not just a world cup symbol

Express Elevator To Hell | July 2, 2006 at 04:54 PM

Nope, I don't remember the Lesibians pulling a train bit

I think someone had a stab at making a skull out of people but tried rather too hard to stick to basic biology whilst they were at it and it just comes out crapper than it otherwise would have been, which would have been... well... still crap

Express Elevator To Hell | July 2, 2006 at 08:15 AM

Forgot my follow-up post

So... what's wrong with the ending? Those folks over the pond getting too confused again?

SPOILERS BELOW!

It's pretty fucking obvious she's lost the plot, dreamt that bit and is still down there. Fair do's she'll probably kick the ass of each and every crawler on her tod whilst she's at it.

Cracking film. Always left you guessing as per Marshall's previous work.

Will I watch it again? Hell no, scared me enough the first time round. If I'd have seen it on the big screen I'd have left more than an empty popcorn tub on my seat if you know what I mean.

Express Elevator To Hell | July 1, 2006 at 02:35 PM

Best line in a film in ages: "I'm an English teacher, not fucking Tomb Raider". There's that Dog Soldiers humour I loved so much

Finally getting round to watching the last half hour. Watched the first hour late at night which was a bad idea because I turn into a bit of a complete girl with horror films - sorry chaps!

It's a horribly claustrophobic film. Good stuff so far

Ultraviolet | June 28, 2006 at 07:14 AM

Cool! I thought Equilibreum's fight scenes were top-notch, so this should be good

Hostel | June 27, 2006 at 08:47 PM

Cabin Fever amused me in parts I'll admit. I must say (whilst spoiling the ending completely) that I didn't expect everyone to die though, but then again that's probably because prior to this the two most horrifying films I'd seen were Event Horizon and Alien, where at least one person lives.

You do, unless it's done well or for a good reason, occasionally feel it's slightly pointless in films when everyone dies. What was that shit film with the two divers in the water and they both die at the end? I sure wish I could get those two hours of my life back just to get on a very fast plane and bitch-slap the writer and director until they admit it was shit. Failing that, I'll just settle for head-butting Johnny Vaughn for saying something like "Gripping! A Must see! Five Stars!" on the front, though that should have rung some alarm bells on it's own.

Anyway... slight tangent there...

Sorry mate, hijacked your thread to vent my anger at unrelated films. Still, you're a good general indicator for which films to avoid renting on DVD

Ultraviolet | June 27, 2006 at 08:40 PM

Do you reckon it'd benefit from a well-done Director's Cut then? Most films these days seem to get them... mayhaps I'll wait for the DVD release.

Underworld Evolution | June 27, 2006 at 08:39 PM

To quote on of my brother's friends after we wtched the first one: "Well that was a pile of arse". Although, thinking about it, it would have made more sense to say "well that was an arse pile" but it was amusing at the time nonetheless.

Do I take it the sequel falls somewhat into the same category?

World Cup | June 22, 2006 at 07:49 AM

I dunno, if it's that important then record it, walk home with your fingers in your ears and your eyes shut and watch the match later.

That's if you survive the perilous walk home

Far Cry: Instincts. | June 17, 2006 at 02:12 PM

This is where I love games like Jedi Knight 2 and so on. When the Stormtroopers get into shit, they take cover, or retreat to where their buddies are hiding out.

All too often I've sprinted after one of the Men in White only to find myself confronted by something much, much larger than I am, which usually kills me instantly.

Strangely this is far more appealing than the type of "game play" you describe above... but you already knew that

Land Of The Reasonably Priced | June 5, 2006 at 05:56 PM

In that case yer proper fecked.

Land Of The Reasonably Priced | June 5, 2006 at 05:36 PM

Cheers buddy, that brought some much-needed attention, and another member to boot! Much needed round these parts

See FullAuto? You'll be famous yet

Dvd Rws? | May 30, 2006 at 10:04 PM

Jeez, you must have watched that fine film a fair few times then, or you've got a beast of a DVD player

Alas I have no knowledge in this, the realm of backing-up-films-to-avoid-disintegration
